Milton Glaser - The facts

Milton Glaser

Milton Glaser is often envisioned as the embodiment of American graphic design during the later half of the century. He had a formidable impact of the profession internationally. As a modern renaissance man; he is a rare breed of intellectual designer-illustrator, who brings a certain level of depth in regards to understanding and conceptual thinking.

 
  • Born June 26, 1929 In New York City.
  • Educated at Manhattan's High school of music and art, Cooper Union art school and the Academy of fine arts in Bologna, Italy.
  • Founded many companies such as; pushpin studios, New york magazine, WBMG, Milton Glaser, Inc.
  • His most notable works are I ♥ NY logo, his Bob Dylan poster for Columbia records, the DC bullet logo for DC Comics (used from 1977 - 2005)
  • The I ♥ NY logo is pop-culture icon with plenty of imitations. This logo is extremely well known and possibly the most popular thing Milton Glaser has ever designed. This would be considered responsible for a lot of his global renown.
